Turkey’s First Integrated Basic Refractory Plant: Konya Selçuklu Krom
Founded in 1966 and starting production in 1969, Konya Selçuklu Krom Magnesite Brick Industry Inc. is Turkey and the Middle East’s first integrated basic refractory production facility. The plant was built by Marubeni Corporation under Sümerbank, transferred to Çitosan in 1984, and privatized in 1998, joining the Özkaymak Group.

Since its inception, the company has produced basic refractory materials and expanded its product range in 2000 by adding an alumina-based refractory production line.
Owning more than half of Turkey’s raw magnesite reserves, the company produces sinter magnesite with its 40,000 tons/year rotary kiln, meeting high-quality industrial demands.
